Abstract
Basic education is essential for attaining fairness and societal equity, but it must be created and administered with cultural sensitivity. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have a huge impact on the education system in many developing nations. Pakistan is grappling with one of the world’s highest out of school populations, with more girls than boys out of school. NGOs have taken an active role in supporting the education sector. This paper focuses on studying the role of NGOs in promoting education in underprivileged areas with the Ra’ana Liaquat Craftsmen’s Colony (RLCC). RLCC has been empowering women in Shah Faisal Town since 1954 by providing support in education, healthcare, vocational training, and livelihoods. The information for the study is collected via surveys and interview sessions. The study employed a quantitative approach and had a descriptive design. 100 respondents were selected through purposive sampling from non-probability sampling technique for the distribution and allocation of sample size. A quantitative methodology was employed to analyze the data utilizing frequency and percentage computations, and hypotheses were tested by applying chi-square. Findings reveal widespread support for providing education to children, with a majority recognizing NGOs as instrumental in promoting education, especially among underprivileged children.
